This is a brief overview of the Visual Communication Design application process. For a detailed description, visit ? RIT's?Graduate Admissions Website
All applicants to Rochester Institute of Technology’s graduate programs must hold — or currently be completing — a four year baccalaureate degree, the U.S. equivalent, granted by an accredited college or university. Decisions of graduate selection are made by the college offering the program.
A portfolio of the applicant’s best work must be submitted online through SlideRoom, or in the form of a CD, DVD, or website. The portfolio must demonstrate proficiency in design, typography, layout, and illustration in a stand-alone format, and/or video, or a combination of both. Images saved as PDFs are preferred. Use the QuickTime movie format (.mov) for videos. Links to HTML websites are also encouraged.
The application deadline is February 15. Applications reviewed and accepted after this date are based upon seats available, and applicants may be put on a waiting list.
The Visual Communication Design program accepts students for Fall entry, but can be flexible depending upon the individual students’ qualifications and/or experience.
